I grew up on a farm near Tamworth. I have experience as a Farmhand working with sheep and cattle. Prior to that I have machinery experience contracting through QLD, NSW and Vic working for an excavator company and harvesting. I'm currently in a farmhand/assistant manager role. I'm interested in mixed livestock operations (sheep and cattle). I have not completed a low-stress stock handling course but my experience in QLD was all low-stress handling. I am open to cropping opportunities too. Please contact me by email as where I live does not have phone reception. Or if you leave a message I will get back to you when in range.
Angus was with me 6 months ago, worked for me for 7 months. He was a very good worker, very happy with him, I am glad I put him on. He is one of those guys that is always early, and happy to stay late, never complains, I never had one problem with Angus. We were working sheep & cattle; fine wool merinos, a small charalet stud and commercial cows as well. He is a good, calm stock handler, really impressive skills. We used dogs, bikes and horses and he was proficient in all. He has a couple of good dogs that he used , always got the job done easily with them. I was confident in him working alone, I know I didn’t have to double check his work, it would always be done to a high standard and the best of his ability. I got on with Angus really well, we became mates. He was responsible for other workers while he was with me, he was good at delegating and workers were happy to take orders from him. Highly recommend him as an overseer, with a bit of guidance. Not a solo manager position at the moment.. Needs a few more years under a good manager to bring him to the management stage. As an overseer he would ideal. Whoever employs Angus is lucky to have him.
