'James worked for us for a couple of years, Sep 2016-Feb 2018. He did a bit of everything, tractor, sheep and cattle, spraying. He did anything going. Reliable operator with machinery. Very good with sheep and stock work in general, he liked cattle too. Good in terms of reliability – always rang if he wasn’t coming. Good with punctuality. Communication skills good. No concerns recommending him, sometimes a bit disinterested in menial tasks. Would recommend him well above others and would have him back, if we had the means, it’s just a hard time at the moment. He left on his own accord. '

Hard working, honest and reliable worker. I am easy going, a fast learner, and willing to give everything a go. I enjoy learning new things and I work well in a team environment or on my own. I grew up on a farm until I was 12, since completing year 10 in 2012 I have lived away from home and succeeded in a few different roles. Most recently I have been in northwest Queensland working on a 110000 acre cattle station. Before that I was driving articulated dump trucks in the mining industry, both open cut and underground. I am a happy, fun and adventurous young woman. I love fishing, camping and all things outdoors.

'Jessica is still working for me, she has been here about 11 months now. She is classed as a jillaroo, responsible for everything from checking waters, cleaning troughs, fixing existing fences and building new ones, welding, machinery and vehicle maintenance. Anything that needs doing on a station, she is more than capable. She has been mustering, drafting and processing cattle; if she doesn’t know something she will ask and give it a go, she is a quick learner and picks things up no problem. She can go out on her own and I totally trust her. She is very honest and trustworthy and I would highly recommend her. I will be sad to see her go. '

    Information

I grew up in a semi rural community west of Sydney, growing up i always had sheep, horses, dogs, cattle and more on our 24acre property. I have work experience with sheep and cattle E.g mustering (via Quad and Horseback), drenching, tagging, vaccinating etc, in addiction to stock work i also have tractor operating experience during hay season, as well as some fencing experience. Agriculture is my passion, in every aspect, i care about the future of agriculture and know just how important Ag really is! I'm a very quick learner, independent, work well in a team or on my own, i will give anything a go. I’ve always had a passion for agriculture, and have since found a love for agronomy, my long term goal is to fufill my career dream of becoming a agronomist. In the mean time, I am wanting to get as much agricultural knowledge under my belt as possible!

' Molly was here for 2 – 3 months. Her work mostly involved general day to day farm duties, checking stock, mustering, processing, those kind of things. She worked unsupervised and that was fine, she was very good in terms of punctuality, reliability and honesty. Her skill level grew while she was here, she took instruction and learnt quickly. Great work ethic and pretty good communication skills for a then 18 year old. I would have absolutely no reservations in recommending Molly for any future work. '

'Luke has been Acting Assistant Manager here at our Ballarat sale yards. He led a team responsible for yard operations – moving stock, feeding, ensuring numbers and pens were correct. All livestock duties at the yard. His communication skills were good, I had no problems there at all. He was reliable and punctual, and good at leading a team. I’d have no hesitation in recommending him. '

    Information

I am a 27 year old german girl, looking for a farm to work at and experience the australian farmer's life. I am in my second year visa already and want to work all the time through until september 2019. I used to work at a diary farm back home and for two different pearling farms in WA. I know what I can expect. Hard and dirty work and I am fine with it. I am strong and like to challenge myself to learn something new. I have a drivers license and a 4wdr. Also I know how to ride a motorbike (no license tho) I am working in the hospitality since about 8 years. Long days and hard work is what I am used to. Working independently or in a team, I don't mind. I love it to be in the nature and don't mind sun or rain. My english skills are very well since I am traveling for almost two years.

'Ali worked for me at Angus Australia for a number of years as a Members Services Officer; her role was to provide support to our members, handle their enquiries, registrations etc. We actually moved Ali into the DNA register where she was responsible for processing DNA results mostly. She is very skilled, thorough and has great time management skills. Her communication skills are great, a lot of Ali’s work was done via email, servicing our broad client base; aged farmers as well that weren’t technological, she was great at handling communications with all of our clients. She worked closely within a team of six other officers in a very close work environment. She is a real team player. Her work ethic and punctuality were great also, we had no problems with her at all. I would absolutely recommend Ali for any future employment. '

    Information

I have grown up on our mixed farming operation in the Central West of NSW and as a result I have good experience in all aspects of sheep and cattle work and of a winter cropping operation. I am looking to be both challenged and rewarded in an industry that I have grown up with. My background on a mixed farming operation in the central west of New South Wales has exposed me to the hard work and passion that is needed to succeed in such a challenging role. In my previous roles, all associated with the rural sector, I have gained a knowledge of farm management, animal health and what is needed to make a successful career in agriculture. I have developed excellent interpersonal skills through sales related roles and pride myself on being able to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life. I have shown in past jobs that I have the ability to work efficiently and cooperate with team members to achieve great results for all stake holders involved. I have a passion for the rural industry.

'Tom has worked for me a number of times. Majority machinery operation – spraying, harvest, ploughing. He has also spent time moving ex farm grain, shed work, and performing maintenance on machinery. He is a reliable operator, he is from a farming background and you can tell that he has done it all before, and knows his way around. Didn’t have any issues with him at all and would happily have him back. He was always happy to put in the hours, you can certainly leave him unsupervised and know that he will get the job done, well. Definitely capable of management, I am off a family farm myself and he would be exactly the kind of person I would be looking for if I wanted someone to run the place. Farm management is where he wants to be from what I can tell, he has the drive you need. I would absolutely recommend Tom.'

I'm looking for a work with my partner. We are ready to start ASAP and looking to work lots of hours (50 plus). Currently in Brisbane, but can move for the right job. We both have driving licenses. Our last position was in Auscott cotton farm, where we worked almost for a year. Mainly our job was to operate tractors (John Deeres like 8310RT, 8370RT, 8285R, 8295R, 8345R, 9470RX, 6155M, JCB backhoe and Merlo) and doing works like discing, ripping, planting, spreading, rolling hills, hilling up, grader boarding, working with cultipacker, scarify, drag bucket, chaser bin and lilliston rig. We have had lots of training about safety, equipment maintenance and operating. We worked in 12 hours day or night shifts and 12 days in 2 weeks, so long working hours wouldn’t be a problem for us. We are not afraid to learn new things. In short, we are honest, capable of learning quickly, stress resilient, hard working Estonians with a sense of responsibility in what we do.

'Kaisa & Kenet did two seasons with me, both for about six months between 2016 – 2018. They mostly operated machinery, we practice row cropping which is a bit more complex and they could handle that well. They are both skilled operators and I was happy to have them operating our machinery. Punctuality and Reliability, they were fairly disciplined. Communication is one of their downfalls, they haven’t been in Australia long although their English is improving . They are both quietly spoken. I have no dramas recommending them both, anything around machinery and operation especially, they will be right. '

' Ben was with us for 2 years, he left in September. He was Assistant Manager here; mixed farming, Irrigation, dryland – he was jack of all trades. Overall very good, when you left him alone he made a couple of bad decisions. I would say he is suited to a role with direction, opposed to a role of large responsibility. He is a very nice person, although communication needs work. He relies on the internet, rather than a conversation to base his decisions. Other than that he is very good, he is reliable, turns up on time. He is a pretty good machinery operator, you have to keep at him with a few things, maintenance etc. He is ok at handling stock. I would recommend him, just not into a top management position, he is suited to assistant manager.'
