I grew up on a farm near Tamworth. I have experience as a Farmhand working with sheep and cattle. Prior to that I have machinery experience contracting through QLD, NSW and Vic working for an excavator company and harvesting. I'm currently in a farmhand/assistant manager role. I'm interested in mixed livestock operations (sheep and cattle). I have not completed a low-stress stock handling course but my experience in QLD was all low-stress handling. I am open to cropping opportunities too.
Please contact me by email as where I live does not have phone reception. Or if you leave a message I will get back to you when in range.
'Angus was with me 6 months ago, worked for me for 7 months. He was a very good worker, very happy with him, I am glad I put him on. He is one of those guys that is always early, and happy to stay late, never complains, I never had one problem with Angus. We were working sheep & cattle; fine wool merinos, a small charalet stud and commercial cows as well. He is a good, calm stock handler, really impressive skills. We used dogs, bikes and horses and he was proficient in all. He has a couple of good dogs that he used , always got the job done easily with them. I was confident in him working alone, I know I didn’t have to double check his work, it would always be done to a high standard and the best of his ability. I got on with Angus really well, we became mates. He was responsible for other workers while he was with me, he was good at delegating and workers were happy to take orders from him. Highly recommend him as an overseer, with a bit of guidance. Not a solo manager position at the moment.. Needs a few more years under a good manager to bring him to the management stage. As an overseer he would ideal. Whoever employs Angus is lucky to have him.'

'I have known Matt Jones for around ten (10) years. During this period he has been agisting cattle on our property and I have found him to be a stable, mature and respectful individual. Matt is energetic, trustworthy and is a dedicated husband and father with high moral standards. He has excellent team and leadership skills and an ability to change and cope with whatever tasks or events may happen to collide during planned works for the day or week ahead. Regarding animal husbandry he has exceptional skills and knowledge which has been instilled in Matt at a very young age. Caring for animals of all types has been a part of the Jones & Sons family business. Working in the family business Matt has developed high standards with work. There is a variety of diverse opportunities which include all aspects of cattle management, agricultural and pasture improvements including developing and maintaining varied crops. Matt also operates part of a family team operating and milling timber with onsite timber mill producing all standards of landscaping and high standard hardwood for building. His other interest has been ongoing commitment with understanding and breeding livestock, training and breeding stock horses and I believe he has a range of rare skills for his age. Over the past ten (10) years Matt has repaired various plant items on our property including tractors of varied manufactures including slashers and spreaders items such as skid steer bobcats and hydraulic slasher, augers and spreaders. He has excellent plant operation skills and knowledge with front end loaders and attachments of varied types. He operates a 20-tonne excavator which the family owns. He also operates skidders, dozers and cattle truck tippers up to heavy combination. Matt can carry out most onsite mechanical repairs for tractors, vehicles and associated plant items including servicing pumps and general maintenance. Matt has held the position of Maintenance Officer at our local bushfire brigade and has excellent knowledge and experience in bushfire suppression and hazard reduction works. He is a valued member and respected by his bushfire station colleges. Any employer who has the opportunity would benefit greatly from having Matt join their team.'
My name is Raul and I am from Estonia. I have spent all my childhood at countryside and my family had a little farm, growing pigs, chickens and cows, also some vegetables, potatoes and grain. So from a young age I have experience with tractors. In Estonia I worked as an agricultural worker, where I operated different farm machinery. During that job I learned more about working in a bigger farm. In Australia I have previously worked in a farm driving mostly a chaser bin, but also other machinery and tractors. I have a little experience with gps systems, but I would love to learn even more about them. I am hard working, fit and easy to get along with. I take every job as a challenge and get it done as good as possible.
I am travelling together with my partner Oliivia Oengo, who is also registered on this website.
'Raul and Oliivia were her November – December last year over harvest. They were both driving chaser bins. They were both good operators, capable and reliable. They had to carry out some maintenance, mainly the morning servicing on the machines. Always turned up on time, had no problems with them there. Communication was good, they let me know if they had any questions or made mistakes. Their English is good. I would recommend them. '
'He comes and goes with us, when we need him as a farm hand he helps out on a casual/ temporary kind of bases. We run sheep but he has worked with cattle for us previously. Stock handling, he is great with sheep – really good. He has a dog, only works in the yards & sheds best but can work in the paddock. He is competent on motorbikes. He’s good, tell him what you want done and he gets it done. Especially in the yards drenching backlining – he a goer. Very quiet, might have to push a little bit because he is a bit quiet. Once you get to know him a bit this changes. Has done a bit of cropping, he can drive machinery, forklifts etc – capable at all that. I’ve known him for years and think he’s great, would recommend him.'
'Imogen is very quiet, although exceptionally thorough and methodical in everything she does. She is perfect for some jobs, that require everything to be perfect, she is very clever. Although if you are looking for someone to work in the yards with livestock or be at the forefront of your business, she is not your girl, she is just not outgoing enough. She ticks all the boxes, she is very polite, always on time, clever, very well presented. She is good at working alone. She is smart enough to come to you if she has a problem or makes a mistake, she can communicate although will not go out of her way too. '
My name is Lucas and I am a 26years old agronomist, specilized in vegetal production. My last job was to experiment on potato plants, in Britany, France. I used to drive a tractor (mowing, drilling, ripping, seeding etc.) to make the soil labours, plant the potatoes, make and follow the experimentation plans. I always have a global reflection on the cropping system I work on. I volunteered just before this work (1 year ago) in a dairy farm with 50 cows to help the owner before she sold her farm, in Brittany too. I am used to do the milking (2x4 cows in the milking parlour) with the good hygienic practices, and with care : each one of them has a name. Feed them with hay bale, cleaning and taking care of the litter, cleaning the milking parlour was part of my daily work too.
I also worked in international countries, so I am used to adapt myself to different kinds of job, and I am really openminded and curious about everything. I am really ambitious and I wish to work with great employers who I can help a lot and share with them knowledges and more.
I live with my partner, Eva, who is also really intersted about farming, she worked a lot in vineyard too, so she will be happy to settle down in the country side. She is more experienced in housekeeping and cooking wich can be also really usefull for you.
Please take a moment to considerate my application, I am really passionate by agriculture and skilled, I need someone to give me my first opportunity to show what I can do !
2011 - 2015
'We have a small market garden & orchard. Lucas has been helping out about three weeks. He is a lovely young fella, really enjoy working with him, He is an ag grad – has done internships in different industries. His English is good, makes life easier. Forward thinker, picks up very quickly the routine of what we do. He stands out and knows what we are doing and how we are doing it – strong initiative. Really interested in what we do, we grow biologically and he is very passionate about that. Partner Eva. Here purely to work and make money. I am confident they would be keen to stick around for longer than their 88 days to work and learn a lot. Lovely young couple, I’m really keen to recommend them. Anything Organic & biodynamic would be perfect, conventional farming just as good. Something broad acre perhaps. No hesitation at all in recommending them.'

'Jason worked with me in my fencing contracting business about two years ago, he was with me for about 18 months. He did a bit of everything, driving tractors, post hole diggers, running wires. Work ethic was always pretty good, you have to give him a lot of direction. Once he has it and is on task he is good, just needs some help keeping on task from time to time. He was always punctual and reliable, never had a sick day or anything. Communication was good, he had a few hiccups and always came to me and owned up straight away. He was pretty green when he started with me but was really willing to learn and have a go. I have no dramas recommending him. '
'Luke has been with us 4 weeks, as a casual - Earthmoving Business. He has been doing some machinery operation, mostly trucks – road trains and water trucks & float work. Pretty good & responsible operator. Luke has been performing basic maintenance on our machines. He is good, reliable and punctual.'
I'm a young energetic guy with a good work ethic, who's eager to learn new skills and understands what is necessary to get the job done. I'm an extremely competent horse and motorbike rider with a bit of experience with working dogs. I enjoy living on the land and the freedom it gives me.
'Simon was here for two years, 2016-17 and we were at another station with him before that in 2014. He was the leading hand while he was here, with seven people working under him. He is absolutely fantastic, you will have no problems with him. He is great at leading a team, giving orders, communicating and those things – excellent. His cattle handling skills are sensational, his horse skills even better. He is great, anyone that has him will be pretty happy! His work ethic and commitment to his job are outstanding. I couldn’t recommend him more, we would love to have him back!'
Bill Rutherford & Sheila Cunningham
We are a mature, reliable and responsible couple, working together according to our individual strengths and experience.
We made the decision to spend our last few working years working in different places as a way to see more of our world.
Bill was born and raised in Central Otago, NZ, taking over the family farm upon the death of his father just after he left school. He has remained self employed for the majority of his working life. Sheila has a background in the military and engineering.
In general Bill is the hands-on person while Sheila handles all admin and organisation but Sheila is also quite capable of stepping into and enjoying a practical role as required.
We have clean NZ HT licences (4FRW and 2FRTW) , which translated to Vic LR and MR as well as forklift, loader, motorcycle and quad-bike experience .
We both have many years experience working independently, not requiring any external motivation to get the job done in a timely and efficient manner.
Neither of us are clock watchers and, given the option, will complete a job rather than come back to it the next day.
We are clearly aware of the necessity to work with the weather and the season.
We are of course willing to be drug tested.
Bill & Sheila
'We had Will a couple of years ago, driving the air seeder for us. He was very proficient, it was a bit different to what he was used to, we run big machinery, large scale broad acre farming. He took it on really well and picked it up quickly, he was a valued member of the team. We had older machinery too that required a fair bit of work and maintenance, I have very high standards and expectations and Will adhered to them. He was always willing to listen and did things the way I wanted them done with no problems. Communication for me is critical, it just doesn’t work without it, Will was a member of tour team and communicated well. He worked long demanding hours and I never had a problem with him. I would have no dramas in recommending Will'

'Pier worked on our dairy farm for 6-8 weeks before moving north. He was doing general farmhand work, milking and driving tractors. It was his first time on a dairy farm so his skills developed while he was with us but he was really good. He had driven machinery before so I was never nervous with him on the tractor. He had a good nature with with animals. He's a nice guy. Reliable and hard working. He's not backwards in coming forwards and would discuss his pay and conditions with me but not in an aggressive or argumentative way, '
