We have our own car.

My aim this year is to obtain a range of experience and exposures to different farming practices and operations while on a planned 2 year working holiday around Australia. The 10,000 acre grazing and cropping, family owed property in the Amelup/Borden region of WA is well managed by my father, but I feel that experience elsewhere in the state and country would greatly benefit myself and business and help keep our methods and approach both modern and profitable.
'Jaxon came home at 16 been on the farm since. Very good mechanic, self taught and very competent. Can drive all machinery – very experience and good operator. He has had limited experience with the boom spray (tractor pulled) – has just started to pick it up in the last 3-4 years, he can spray but not that confident. Looking to develop his skills and seek experience. Sheep, great with handling livestock. He is starting to make decisions with me now and picks up on small details in our stock. Very experienced. Would not have a problem with him. Willing to have a go. Very honest, if he has made a mistake he will tell you. Quiet boy, he can work alone. Good communication skills. Very aware of communication. Great work ethic. Looking for a family farm that are switched on operators opposed to a corporate company. '
We are four agronomist from Uruguay willing to work in the seeding seasson 2019.
We commit with the job until beginnings of July this year.
We are really excited to have this experience in Australia , we think it’s an opportunity to keep improving our farming knowledge .
Two of us has long experience working in Australia, much of the time on farms ( winter crop harvest, cotton harvest, feedlot, dairy station) . The other two has no experience yet in Australia but they are agronomist aswell and have big experience back home.
'Gus (Agustin) and Freddy (Federico) helped us over harvest, they finished up in December. They were operating John Deere equipment; 9750 harvester, were proficient with telehandlers and trucks (neither have their MC License) we run a Western Star and a manual Volvo and they were fine with both of those. They haven’t had a lot of experience with the bigger gear (don’t run as much in South America where they are from) but they picked it up really quickly. Conscientious with maintenance, always on time and turned up. Very capable young guys. I was happy to leave them unsupervised and trusted they would get the job done. They would call me if they had problems and they weren’t hard on gear. I offered for them to stay and would happily have them for longer, they are looking to broaden their experience though which I totally understand. Would definitely recommend them.'

'Mark worked for me for about 8 weeks doing some contracting for shires and Vic roads. He was operating a tractor. He'd pretty good. He had been on a tractor but he hadn't done the work I had him doing before. By the end of the season he had picked it up well. He was reliable. He would do his job and not muck about. He'd always ask what was next and talk to us on the UHF to see how we wanted things done. I'd have him back next season.'
I'm a motivated and hard working estonian girl. I always love to learn new skills and get new experiences. In Australia my main job experiences have been at a construction site and in a farm. I really enjoyd both of these jobs and I learned different skills that I can use in the jobs to come. I may not have grown up on a farm, but I have spent all my summers at the contryside, where we grew different vegetables, so from a young age I have helped with different jobs and learned the importance of work. This makes me dedicated and you can trust that I will always show up on time to work. I’m not afraid of long hours, I more prefer them. I have a can do attitude, I believe a person can do anything if only one puts mind to it, so I am not afraid of challenges. I also have my drivers licence, forklift license and white card.
I am travelling together with my parter Raul Joosep Kartau, who is also registered on this website.
2015 - 2018
Bachelor of Arts in Social Science
'Raul and Oliivia were her November – December last year over harvest. They were both driving chaser bins. They were both good operators, capable and reliable. They had to carry out some maintenance, mainly the morning servicing on the machines. Always turned up on time, had no problems with them there. Communication was good, they let me know if they had any questions or made mistakes. Their English is good. I would recommend them. '
'Matt is my nephew, he has been helping me out on my place on and off while he has been doing his electrician apprenticeship. He has been here over seeding and harvest times. Operating machinery, lots of ploughing, dragging a roller and smudge bar also on a 20t chaser bin and some loader work. He has picked up extremely quickly and well, he is switched on. He also did some basic maintenance on the machines. We have sheep as well, he has helped check water and those kinds of things. He was here when we were mulesing last and gave us a hand backlining. In the workshop he is very handy, no so much on a skill level but more problem solving, he impressed me. He is in his third year of an electrical apprenticeship. '
'Marti arrived before seeding last year, he drove seeder and with one other guy had it going through the whole of winter, in that he did a great job. Didn’t make mistakes, looked after machine. Wasn’t a fan of the rock picking or not so fun jobs that came later. Great machinery operator. '
'Martin Rodima came to us at mowing in time for hay, he did a good job. He was driving the Hay mower at the start and then switched between raking and accumulating. Good job. He left because we cut back on workers when we finished mowing. He was keen, did a good job, keen to listen and learn. He may have worked better if he was working alone. '
'Will is in his third year with us here at Haddon Rig. He has been mainly carrying out stock work, pretty good sheep handling skills. He has two work dogs that are handy. He is generally reliable and on time – about an 8/10 for that. I am happy for him to work on his own and know that he will get the job done to a high standard, although he hasn’t had a lot of responsibility on him. He usually has someone in charge of him. His work ethic is strong. I don’t’ think he is up to running men under him yet, but he would definitely fit in anywhere. He is a nice young bloke and I have no hesitation in recommending him. '
'Pieter worked on our avocado farm for 12 months. His jobs were varied and extensive and he performed orchard spraying, chainsaw work, chemical handling, tree planting, irrigation maintenance, general farm duties. Pieter looked after equipment, was on time, reliable and worked hard. He was always prepared to put in extra time for us and I would recommend him to other farmers. '

'I have known Matt Jones for around ten (10) years. During this period he has been agisting cattle on our property and I have found him to be a stable, mature and respectful individual. Matt is energetic, trustworthy and is a dedicated husband and father with high moral standards. He has excellent team and leadership skills and an ability to change and cope with whatever tasks or events may happen to collide during planned works for the day or week ahead. Regarding animal husbandry he has exceptional skills and knowledge which has been instilled in Matt at a very young age. Caring for animals of all types has been a part of the Jones & Sons family business. Working in the family business Matt has developed high standards with work. There is a variety of diverse opportunities which include all aspects of cattle management, agricultural and pasture improvements including developing and maintaining varied crops. Matt also operates part of a family team operating and milling timber with onsite timber mill producing all standards of landscaping and high standard hardwood for building. His other interest has been ongoing commitment with understanding and breeding livestock, training and breeding stock horses and I believe he has a range of rare skills for his age. Over the past ten (10) years Matt has repaired various plant items on our property including tractors of varied manufactures including slashers and spreaders items such as skid steer bobcats and hydraulic slasher, augers and spreaders. He has excellent plant operation skills and knowledge with front end loaders and attachments of varied types. He operates a 20-tonne excavator which the family owns. He also operates skidders, dozers and cattle truck tippers up to heavy combination. Matt can carry out most onsite mechanical repairs for tractors, vehicles and associated plant items including servicing pumps and general maintenance. Matt has held the position of Maintenance Officer at our local bushfire brigade and has excellent knowledge and experience in bushfire suppression and hazard reduction works. He is a valued member and respected by his bushfire station colleges. Any employer who has the opportunity would benefit greatly from having Matt join their team.'
