Wannon Pastoral Company – Farm Hand The successful applicant will join our family business to assist with the day to day management of Beef Cattle and Wool and Meat sheep. There are three properties located within 40 minute’s drive of each other and our team includes 5 permanent staff and seasonal backpacker labour of up to 3 staff. Currently we have two backpackers, one who is leaving mid March and we wish to increase our staff base to 3 backpackers to help get through our busy summer feeding program. As such the opportunity for 2 backpackers to start in March has arisen. The busy period will last until sometime around May so we are hoping staff will stick around until then at a minimum. Ongoing employment is possible depending on applicant. We have one position for immediate start and one for later in March, this is also negotiable depending on the applicant. ***We are calving down 750 heifers between March and May so anyone with any experience calving cattle will be strongly favored *** Accommodation / Package: A comfortable shared house, with all necessary amenities and air conditioning / wood heating is provided on property with wifi included. We deduct $150 per week from your wages for this. We pay wages based on an hourly wage negotiable depending on experience and at Australian Pastoral Award rates. A vehicle is available for local use depending on the applicant. Skills required: - Driving licence and at least a few years driving experience absolutely necessary. - Previous experience driving tractors is preferred, though it is not essential. - Positive attitude and solid work ethic. We look after our staff well, but we expect a fair days work in return - Any previous experience working a physical job is preferred.
